The 2027 International Writing Across the Curriculum conference organizers are pleased to announce the availability of registration scholarships to support scholars and practitioners, both national and international, who plan to attend the IWAC 2027 conference in Orono, Maine held on July 7-10, 2027, regardless of whether or not they will be presenting.
Our intent is to encourage representatives from diverse disciplinary, geographical, and institutional contexts; therefore, reviewers will favor a variety of disciplines and contexts to enrich the conference. The first consideration will be the quality of each application. In the event of numerous highly-competitive applications, reviewers will try to select a diverse group of national and international recipients.
Good candidates are people who, through their essays,
1) demonstrate evidence of their commitment to WAC/WID work,
2) explain how they would benefit from participating in this particular IWAC conference, and
3) describe how this particular IWAC conference would be enriched by their participation.
Scholarships will not be awarded on the basis of described financial need. We assume this condition is met by all scholarship applicants.
Applicants must complete the application in order to be considered. All applications are due by December 1, 2026. Decisions will be made in December 2026 in order to allow applicants time to make other financial arrangements as needed.
